Too much yarn?

If there a thing as too much yarn. I have been window shopping for some sock yarn and have quite the wishlist going. I don't want to be terrible and end up with baskets and baskets of yarn but it all looks so soft and squishy I just can't resist drooling. Can one really have too much yarn?
