I am so happy that it is finally the weekend. I've been so busy trying to keep us with my homework and work on my spoilee's package put together.

I was beginning to think that I'd never get out of the library. I was doing an extra credit project for Runes. I was trying to find all the runes for protection on a house or dwelling. The professor thought it would be great project for me since my family has just moved into a new house in a nice muggle community, it's really not that we don't trust muggles it is just better to be safe than sorry.

I'm so excited to see my partners package come together. I can't wait to sent the owl off to her, I hope she likes everything I've found for her.

Hogsmead Weekend

Madame Pomfrey was kind enough to see to it that my illness didn't keep me away from the first visit to Hogsmead. She made me promise to bundle up and keep warm and hydrated. My first stop was Zonko's to buy some candy to give to those nasty Slytherin boys that insist on following me around. Then I browsed the Fiber shop looking for the right yarn for the bag for my spoilee, I found a few that I like I just need to find a pattern that they will work with so that I can purchase enough yarn. I spent the end of my visit sipping a cup of warm butter beer at Honey Duke's. I'm strange and like to sit and watch the couples all googly eyed with each other, they can be very entertaining sometimes, especially the boys that don't really want to be there but let the girls brag them there because they have a crush on them.

I first learned to knit about 6 years ago after finding that not very many people liked the way crocheted items looked. I went to the library in search of books with simple instructions. Well that didn't go to well since I'm a need to see in action kind of person. So I did a search for videos on the internet. Knittinghelp.com saved my sanity and I actually learned from watching the videos.

My first knitting project...eeek I can't remember. *rumages in her trunk mubbling I know I put a remembral for that subject in her somewhere* Ah yes. My first project sadly was just a basic seed stitch wash rag.

I recieved and awesome package from Allitrya Flitwick. I love the tiny sock and bookmark scarf. The tiny snowy owl is so cute. I can't wait to knit up a tiny sock with the mini skien of Sunshine Yarn in Pheonix. The stitchmarker are great too, lots of unique beads. And last but not least is the bar of chocolate, the package is so pretty I don't want to open it to eat it...lol. The picture really doesn't do the items justice but it is the best my friend phone camera could do.

Look Fiber Magic

Okay so its not really magic but I think its pretty close. While browsing the thread for Huffles HLBOE thread I noticed that they were talking about the dreaded second sock. Kaae linked to a article on knitty.com that shows you how to knit both socks at the same time. I browsed it and thought there is no way my over worked brain will be able to handle that. But it has been bugging me, I've only made one pair of sock because I finished the first rather quickly and took over a month to finish the second (and now the whole pair is mia...grrr). So since I wasn't having my luck getting to sleep I decided to take out the yarn and needles and give it a try...one try never hurts right. Well...It turns out that it so much easier than it look, I cheated on the casting on (I think this is what made me think I couldn't do it) and I now have on my mini Huffle socks on my needles.

My favorite books in the series are Goblet of Fire (I love the way the Harry changes after the trials he goes during the Triwizard Torney) and Deathly Hallows (I love how the characters develop and how they all band together after Dumbledor dies).

I would pick Hermionie and Ginny, they both strike me as being neat and tidy and Hermionie would be a great help with homework. Draco would be my least favorite, I think he would be a total arrogant pain as a roommate.

5 Hufflepuffs are a hardworking bunch, but also a bit mischevious. Which Hogwarts professor would you most like to prank, and how would you do it? I'd like to pull a prank on Snape. Since he is alway yelling it would be something that made his voice sound like a squeek.

I'm so excited to be able to get started on putting my spoilee's package together. I hope we have a trip to Hogsmead soon so that I can find goodies for my package. I'm thrilled with the colors I get to work with this term.

I heard in the halls that some of the first years fell into the lake while getting a tour of the grounds. I feel so bad for them. I remember what it was like my first term, having feathers for a few hours might have been amusing to some but it was really annoying. I heard rumors that there are students trying to trick us Huffles into eating Canary Creams again. I'm vowing not to eat anything yellow for the whole term. I'll be on guard so that none of my fellow Huffles are tricked either.

I know that I really should have all of my stuff packed already but I can't seem to tear myself away from reading to do anything else. My mum was after me all summer about this habit, I would find a nice shaddy spot in the yarn and sit and read for hours. A muggle friend of mine told me that I need to remind my mum that reading is great for the mind, yeah that doesn't help when you negelect chores because your nose is stuck in a book.

Our headgirl Lavender has asked us to give a little info about ourselves so here it goes.

I am oldest child of Stewart and Lily (Ollivander) Trelawney. I have 7 younger siblings, see why I really enjoy going away for school. My mother comes from a well know line of witches and wizards, she always wants the best for kiddos. My father comes from a magical bloodline as well, I haven't been able to find much of information on his family history.

I'm excited for this new term I missed all of my Hogwarts friends while I was away last term. I hope I never have to go to a muggle school again. *blech* I really missed being Hufflepuff Prefect and hang out with all my goodfriends that enjoy fiber arts as much as I do. And this term I don't have a boyfriend so I get to join the converstations about how cute the guys are without being worried about hurting someones feelings.

I can't wait to get know all the new Huffles that have joined our group since HSKS4. Huzzah Hufflepuff!!!!

Holidays are aways a great time to visit home for the weekend. It is a wonderful break from school and with all my aunts, uncles and cousins around there is never a dull moment. One of my little cousins caused a rucks at breakfast this morning when she went running around the room putting together rhyming spells. Too her suprise one worked and the room was quickly a flutter of little wings as a group of hummingbirds appeared out of nowhere. My mom thought it was wonderful and was trying to help my cousin figure out what combination has conjured the birds, my mom loves anything to do with birds.

I have a friend that keeps sending me owls to ask me how to get this girl to notice him, we've been friends since his family moved into the house next door when I was 6. If there a thing as too much yarn. I have been window shopping for some sock yarn and have quite the wishlist going. I don't want to be terrible and end up with baskets and baskets of yarn but it all looks so soft and squishy I just can't resist drooling. Can one really have too much yarn?

We didn't do great during quidditch but we are up in point all together. Maybe if we get 100% in our weekly posts and do really well in the next round of quidditch we can be back on top.

Things have been really quite in the common room lately. I wonder if everyone is as busy with their studies as I am. I feel like I've been burried under a mountian of homework. Even when I sleep I see books and rolls of parchment. Perhaps everyone is enjoying the lingering effect of our trip to Hogsmead. I really enjoyed the trip and can't wait to go again.
